ACC SERVICES
Our greatest asset to the community is facilitating in breaking the cycle of abuse by providing a safe, child-friendly and centralized location for the following:
- Crisis intervention and emotional support for child
victims and their non-offending caregivers
- Child forensic interviews in a child friendly, non-threatening environment
- Child forensic evaluations in a child friendly, non-threatening environment
- Mental health evaluations, examinations, and therapy services
- Professional Training and Community Education
- Forensic
medical exams for alleged victims of child sexual
abuse and severe child physical abuse
- Support groups for teens and children
- Parent support group and education classes for non-offending caregivers
- Court assistance services for child victims and non-offending caregivers
- Expert testimony in the courts
- Screening and coordination of incoming cases including collection and maintenance of appropriate data in a central location
- Multidisciplinary Team Case Review
Services at the Appalachian Children’s Center are provided free of charge, to any child or family in need. Non-emergency services are available from 9:00am until 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. The Center is available to professionals after-hours, 7 days a week. Emergency services are available on a 24-hour basis.
